The Resident Evil 4 remake has finally been released. After months of anticipation, one of the most influential video games of the noughties has been rebuilt and refined for the new generation of consoles and PC.
Game developer Capcom said the Resident Evil 4 remake “preserves the essence of the original game while introducing modernised gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics.” The game received perfect review scores from more than 30 publications ahead of its release, and has been described as a “masterpiece.”
Following on from the successful remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 in 2019 and 2020, the fourth chapter in the iconic survival horror franchise once again puts players in the shoes of Leon Kennedy. The game follows its 2005 predecessor very faithfully, but it does some include alterations and, in some areas, expansions.
