A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder after allegedly driving his car intentionally into a 55-year-old man on Christmas Day.
The incident occurred about 9.30pm outside a property at Millmerran in Queensland's Toowoomba region.
The older man suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
Police allege the driver initially fled and was located shortly after at a nearby park and taken into custody.
Initial police statements suggested the vehicle was driven into a residence but a spokeswoman later said the man was outside when he was hit.
The driver was charged with one count each of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possess drug utensils, authority required to possess explosives and driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on December 27.
