Reshuffle plan in place if Celtic and Rangers Premier Sport clashes overlap on TV due to extra time

Motherwell's showdown with Celtic faces a channel switch up should the game go all the way to extra-time and penalties to avoid a clash with Rangers and Dundee.

The holders are first-up on a bumper night on action as they travel to Fir Park in a bid to secure a semi-final spot and a trip to Hampden. The Premier Sports Cup Final victory over Hibs under Ange Postecoglou acted as a catalyst for Celtic's title winning campaign, but Motherwell boss Steven Hammell will be hoping to derail any hopes of retaining the trophy by booking a spot at the national stadium for the Steelmen.

It's a game that could see both sides pushed to their limit with a traditional knock-out format in place during the quarter final stage, meaning ties will be decided by extra time and penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes. This could have a knock on effect for viewers with Rangers welcoming Gary Bowyer's side to Ibrox.

Both games as are set to be shown on Premier Sports 1, with coverage of the showdown in Lanarkshire starting at 6pm for a 6.15pm kick-off. Should the game finish within the 90 minutes the match in Govan is next up at 8.10pm, with kick-off at 8.15pm.

However, should the game go for at least 120 minutes the action at Fir Park will be shown on the Free Sports channel for the remainder of the game, allowing the coverage from inside Ibrox to begin as planned. A Premier Sports spokesman noted that viewers will be informed in advance on air should any changes take place.
