An 11-year-old boy was successfully rescued after being trapped between two boulders near his school in Windsor, New Hampshire. The incident occurred when the boy, who was exploring a rocky area on campus, slipped between the boulders as sticks and debris gave way beneath him.
Despite efforts by multiple staff members to free the student, they were unsuccessful, prompting a call to local emergency rescue services. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday to find the boy lodged between the crevasse of a large boulder.
Emergency responders from various communities, along with state police and the Fish and Game Department, worked tirelessly through the night to rescue the boy. The rescue operation involved using ropes, lubricant, jackhammers, saws, and shovels to create space underneath the boy and reduce friction using dish soap and thin pieces of plastic.
The successful rescue took place around 3:15 a.m., and the boy was immediately taken to a hospital for evaluation. Fortunately, he was released shortly after and is reported to be in good health.
The Wediko School, where the boy is a student, expressed gratitude for the efforts of the emergency responders and the successful outcome of the rescue mission. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures, especially when exploring rocky terrains or unfamiliar areas.
