Following the crash landing of a Jeju Air flight at Muan International Airport on Sunday, rescue workers are set to search for the black box flight data recorders once the remaining victims have been recovered. This information was shared during a briefing by the Transport Ministry.
The flight data recorders, commonly referred to as 'black boxes,' play a crucial role in providing aviation safety investigators with essential data to understand and reconstruct incidents.
Over 700 personnel from various agencies, including the police, military, and coast guard, have been deployed to the crash site to assist in the response efforts, as confirmed by the ministry.
Authorities from the Muan Fire Department are actively involved in the process of identifying the victims and documenting the precise locations where individuals lost their lives in the tragic incident.
Once the victims have been identified, they will be transported to a mortuary located at the airport. Following the completion of the identification process, the deceased will be released for burial.
