More than a week after the US presidential election, a few congressional races remain uncalled, but sources project that the Republicans will control both the Senate and the House. The size of the majority is still uncertain as there are nine House seats yet to be called.

The remaining uncalled House seats are as follows:

  • House 5: Oregon
  • House 9: Ohio
  • House 2: Maine
  • House 1: Iowa
  • House 45: California
  • House 21: California
  • House 13: California
  • House 9: California
  • House At Large: Alaska

The GOP's control of both chambers of Congress opens the door for the president-elect to potentially implement significant changes to America's policies, including tax cuts, immigration enforcement, and shifts in domestic and foreign affairs.

The focus now shifts to the size of the upcoming House majority and whether the GOP can expand its margin, which has posed challenges for House Speaker Mike Johnson in managing the conference.

In other news, the Senate race in Pennsylvania between Democratic Sen. Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick is heading to a recount due to the tight margin. The race falls within the one-half of 1% threshold that triggers an automatic recount under state law.

Additionally, the FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information on a suspect believed to have set fire to several ballot boxes in the Pacific Northwest during early voting last month. The fires, reported at drop boxes in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, resulted in the destruction or damage of hundreds of ballots in states where mail-in voting is prevalent.
