During a recent town hall meeting in Georgia, Rep. Rich McCormick addressed concerns about the Trump administration's efforts to reduce the size of the federal government. McCormick emphasized the importance of approaching these cuts with compassion, stating that government inefficiency serves as a safeguard against it becoming too powerful. He highlighted the administration's commitment to providing months of severance to federal workers who voluntarily leave their positions, citing the need to consider their vested interests in retirement.
McCormick also referenced advice from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who had previously urged the Republican Party to demonstrate more compassion. While acknowledging that Musk is now advising the administration on government cutbacks, the official leadership of this initiative remains undisclosed by the White House.

Rep. Andrew Garbarino of New York, along with other New York Republicans, advocated for the protection of a 9/11 health program that had experienced workforce reductions. Garbarino revealed that the White House assured him that the cuts were not deliberate and subsequently reversed them. He commended the administration for rectifying the situation promptly.
