The Republican National Committee (RNC) has significantly outpaced the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in fundraising efforts, with the RNC raising over $66 million in June compared to the DNC's $39 million. This substantial financial advantage has bolstered the RNC's war chest to $102 million by the end of June, surpassing the DNC's $78 million.
Following a debate between President Biden and former President Donald Trump at the end of June, concerns were raised about Biden's performance, leading to calls for him to drop out of the race. Despite this, the Biden campaign managed to secure millions in donations post-debate, indicating continued support despite the criticism.
On the other hand, Republicans are expected to maintain their fundraising lead over Democrats in July, with a three-month streak of success in fundraising. The RNC reported an impressive $331 million in funds raised during the April through June period, showcasing their financial strength heading into the upcoming election.
Despite mounting pressure from some Democrat allies urging him to withdraw from the race, President Biden has reiterated his commitment to staying in the race. Speculation has arisen about Biden potentially considering the demands of his allies ahead of the Democratic National Convention, but as of now, he remains steadfast in his decision to continue his campaign.
