Detectives looking for missing Nicola Bulley have reportedly been given a 'stained' glove discovered in the field where she was last seen. Police bagged the piece of evidence last week, a national newspaper reports.
The mother-of-two's family have questioned the police theory that Nicola fell into the River Wyre in St Michael's on Wyre in Lancashire, arguing that there is no evidence to support the hypothesis. Lancashire Police, however, confirmed that their theory hadn't changed on February 7 - wen two walkers found the blue ski glove, according to The Sun.
The newspaper has published an' exclusive photograph' on its website that it says shows the blue glove resting on a fallen tree branch
The passers-by reportedly found the item of clothing yards from where the 45-year-old was last seen and near to where her mobile phone was found abandoned on a bench. The Sun says the glove was placed in an evidence bag by investigators.
Footage of the find was streamed live on TikTok but has subsequently been taken down. The person who posted the clip also referred to the glove being stained but was uncertain as to what it was, reports The Sun.
One woman commented online: “Has anyone heard anything about the glove that was found in the early hours on the field she was last seen on the TikTok live?
“I was watching it live about 1am. A couple went on to the field last night, found a glove there with a stain on it? They reported it to the police and bagged it and gave it to an officer.”
Nicola disappeared without a trace during a dog walk along the Wyre on January 27. It was reported earlier that police are looking into who had permits to fish the river around the time of her disappearance.
This follows a report from a potential witness who claims to have seen two men acting suspiciously on the river the day before and the morning Nicola went missing. The men were described as trying to hide their faces with "dark clothing" and "hoods or hats" while also holding fishing rods.
