With the trade deadline approaching, rumors are beginning to swirl about players that could be on the move before the Feb. 9 deadline.
With the Golden State Warriors’ battling for position in the middle of the Western Conference playoff race, the defending champs are beginning to be connected to players on the trade block.
On Wednesday, a report linked the Warriors to Philadelphia 76ers defensive specialist Matisse Thybulle. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Warriors have had “internal discussions” about Thybulle. The Warriors like him as a “defensive stopper,” per Pompey.
Along with the Warriors, the Sacramento Kings are monitoring Thybulle, according to Pompey.

Thybulle would add an instant boost to Golden State’s defensive presence on the wing. The 25-year-old has been named to the NBA’s All-Defensive second team for the last two consecutive seasons. However, Thybulle has struggled on the offensive end of the floor.
The Washington Huskies product is averaging 2.7 points on 43.5% hooting from the field and 33.3% shooting from long distance with 1.2 rebounds per game.
Through his four seasons with the Sixers, Thybulle is currently seeing the lowest amount of playing time in his career. Thybulle is currently averaging 12.1 minutes per game for the Sixers. Last season he averaged 25.5 minutes per contest.
Rumors will continue to circle as the trade chatter heats up with the deadline quickly approaching.
