The Minnesota Vikings are set to host free agent running back Kareem Hunt on a visit on Friday. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news.
This is an interesting move by the Vikings. Alexander Mattison is set to be the top running back in this offense, but the group hasn’t performed well in practice or in games after Ty Chandler. He played very well on Thursday night and was arguably the best Vikings against the Seattle Seahawks.
Hunt was a former third-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs and spent the last four seasons with the Cleveland Browns as the complement to Nick Chubb.
Known for his downhill, imposing rushing style, Hunt has the ability to play on all three downs and can still be impactful in a rotational role. In his career, Hunt has rushed for 4,025 yards and 41 touchdowns while catching 211 passes for 1,806 yards and 17 touchdowns.
The Vikings are continuing to leave no stone unturned in their competitive rebuild.
