Report: Titans signing Larrell Murchison to multi-year deal

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly signing their former draft pick and current defensive lineman to a multi-year deal — no, not that defensive lineman.

According to Justin Melo of Broadway Sports Media, the Titans are signing 2020 fifth-round pick and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison to a contract extension that runs through the 2024 campaign. The financials of the deal were not disclosed.

Murchison’s promotion to the active roster comes on the heels of his being elevated from the practice squad in each of the last three weeks which, by rule, is the maximum amount of times a player can be elevated.

So, if the Titans needed Murchison again, which they likely will thanks to so many injuries, he had to be promoted to the active roster first before being able to take the field for Tennessee again.

Murchison hasn’t done much since coming aboard in 2020.

The NC State product played in 21 games over his first two seasons, starting five of them. Murchison recorded a total of 13 tackles (two for loss) and zero sacks in that span.

He failed to make the roster out of training camp in 2022 and has been on the practice squad since. Murchison has totaled one tackle and two pressures in three contests this season.

Murchison, who had one foot out the door at the start of the season, will now be sticking around for a bit longer.
