The Tennessee Titans are reportedly keeping one of their key defensive lineman, Teair Tart, who was set to be an exclusive rights free agent.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Titans are signing Tart to a one-year deal that will keep him in the two-tone blue through the 2022 campaign. The amount of Tart’s contract has yet to be revealed.
After being signed as a UDFA in 2020, Tart has worked his way up the depth chart and became a starter in 2021, appearing in 11 games (10 starts).
Tart tallied 16 combined tackles (two for loss), one QB hit and one pass defended in 2022. He did miss six games due to injury, and had some competition for snaps from fellow defensive lineman, Naquan Jones.
Going into 2022, it’ll be interesting to see how much playing time Jones can pry away from Tart, but both figure to form a stellar rotation at the position for the Titans.
