Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan suffered a knee injury on the first play of the Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills and the team reportedly fears it has lost Lewan for the remainder of the 2022 campaign.
The news comes from Buck Reising of AtoZ Sports Nashville, who notes “those close to the situation believe Lewan is likely done for the 2022 season.”
The exact injury to Lewan’s knee isn’t known. On Tuesday, head coach Mike Vrabel did not provide an update and would only say the left tackle was being evaluated further.
This would be a devastating blow for an offensive line that already has plenty of question marks. Dennis Daley has filled in for Lewan when he has left the field early on this season, but the veteran lineman has not performed well.
This would be the second season-ending injury Lewan has suffered during his career. He missed the final 11 games of the 2020 campaign due to a torn ACL.
And, this might be the end of the road for Lewan in Nashville. The 2014 first-round pick has no guaranteed money left on the final year of his deal, which expires after 2023.
