According to a report from the Athletic’s Dianna Russini on Saturday, the New Orleans Saints are considering Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for their vacant head coach role.
The Saints fired their former head coach Dennis Allen from his duties in November after New Orleans got off to a 2-7 start in the regular season. His role was handed over to Darren Nizzi, who is currently serving as the Saints’ interim head coach.
While New Orleans has been eliminated from playoff contention, the Super Bowl XLIV champions have already begun their search for a new skipper and are eyeing Nagy as a possible candidate.

Nagy is a product of Andy Reid’s coaching tree and has head coaching experience under his belt, most recently with the Chicago Bears from 2018-2021.
The process for interviewing and extending an offer for a head coaching job is extensive and requires permission from the Chiefs, so fans shouldn’t expect to lose the two-time Super Bowl champion anytime soon.
