Report: Saints expected to hire Eagles OC Kellen Moore as coach after Super Bowl LIX

Kellen Moore is the clear front-runner for the New Orleans Saints. According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles offensive coordinator is expected to receive a formal job offer after Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX matchup, which he’s likely to accept.

Since the postseason began, Saints brass have interviewed Philadelphia’s offensive coordinator twiceTom Pelissero reports that the two sides will meet again after Super Bowl LIX at the earliest possible time or conduct another interview.

Pelissero reports that New Orleans GM Micky Loomis has blocked communication with other candidates, and Moore has been assembling his coaching staff.

Like Jonathan Gannon after Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Arizona, Saints brass could ensure that Moore doesn’t leave New Orleans after the Eagles face the Chiefs.

Philadelphia racked up 459 yards of total offense and scored 55 points in a blowout win over Washington in the NFC Championship game. Following that performance, the Saints quickly secured a second interview with Moore before Super Bowl 59 in their host city.

After a historic career at Boise State, Moore served as the Cowboys’ backup quarterback from 2015 to 2017 before taking over as quarterbacks coach in 2018. Dallas promoted him to offensive coordinator the following season, and he held that job through 2022.

This season, Philadelphia finished eighth in total yards, seventh in points, and second in rushing yards, but it had a league-low in passing attempts.
