It seemed like this was coming, didn’t it? NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the New Orleans Saints are expected to activate running back Jamaal Williams from injured reserve for Week 7’s prime-time game with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Williams went down with a hamstring injury in Week 2 and has been on the mend ever since, but he was able to practice this week and is expected to play Thursday night.
So the Saints will finally get a look at their running backs depth chart as it was first envisioned: with Alvin Kamara leading the charge, Jamaal Williams backing him up, and hungry rookie Kendre Miller looking to make the most of every opportunity behind them. Hopefully it can make a difference for an offense that hasn’t been very impressive to start the season.
