Report: Ravens Tight End Mark Andrews Receives Prognosis on Injured Ankle

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews cracked his fibula and suffered additional ligament damage to his ankle during Thursday night’s game against the Bengals, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It is anticipated to be a long-term injury for Andrews, but the Ravens will have their star tight end visit a specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, next week to evaluate his options and next steps.

Andrews was injured by a hip-drop tackle from Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson in the first quarter of Thursday night’s game, an eventual 34–20 Ravens win, and did not return to the contest. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh questioned the need for the controversial tackle after the game and told reporters that the expectation was that Andrews would miss the rest of the year.

The loss of Andrews is a massive blow to the Ravens, who will now need to rely on other pass catchers to fill the void without their Pro Bowl tight end over the middle of the field for quarterback Lamar Jackson.

In 10 games this season, Andrews caught 45 passes for 544 yards and six touchdowns.

The Ravens (8–3) play at the Chargers (4–5) on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 26.
