Report: Ravens Sign Veteran WR Nelson Agholor

The Ravens are signing former Eagles and Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor to a one-year deal, according to Jordan Schultz of The Score.

The deal will be for one year for $3.25 million, per ESPN, and could be worth up to $6.25 million, Schultz reports. Schultz notes that Agholor will reunite with Tee Martin, who was Agholor’s college wide receivers coach at USC and Greg Lewis, who was his wide receivers coach in Philadelphia.

The 29-year-old wideout joins the Ravens after two mediocre seasons with the Patriots. Agholor caught just 68 passes in New England for 835 yards and five touchdowns across 31 games.

Agholor has proven to be a big play threat in the past, and could certainly be that weapon once again in Baltimore. The bigger question that remains for the team is at the quarterback position, as the Ravens and Lamar Jackson remain at an impasse on a long-term contract extension.

Baltimore applied the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, which would pay him $32.3 million this season if he plays under the tag. The non-exclusive franchise tag also allowed teams to speak with Jackson at the start of free agency and tender him a contract offer. The Ravens would have the opportunity to match the contract with the opposing club, or let Jackson walk in exchange for two first-round picks for the team that would sign him.

To date, Jackson remains under the tag, and no teams have officially tendered him a contract.

Plenty of uncertainty remains as the offseason continues to progress, with no clear solution imminent for Jackson and the Ravens.
