There’s a chance Nick Caley will leave the Los Angeles Rams for an offensive coordinator opportunity this offseason, but it won’t be with the New York Jets.
According to Connor Hughes of SNY, Caley has told the Jets that he’s not interested in being their offensive coordinator. Hughes reports that Caley was the team’s “top option” but he has “let it be known he did not have interest in the job.”
With LaFleur out of the running, the Jets are expected to hire Tanner Engstrand as their offensive coordinator. For Caley, he’s also being pursued by the Buccaneers and Texans, so he could potentially leave the Rams for one of those OC openings.
Sources: The #Jets made a run at adding Nick Caley as offensive coordinator — their top option. He let it be known he did not have interest in the job.
The expectation is that Tanner Engstrand will be named OC, per sources.
Remember on Caley: He works with Mike LaFleur.…

Caley just finished his second season with the Rams as their tight ends coach, also serving as their pass game coordinator under Sean McVay. He joined the Rams in 2023 after eight years with the Patriots, seven of which were as their tight ends coach.
