Cam Akers might be on his way out of Los Angeles after Sean McVay ruled him out for Week 6 due to personal reasons, then proceeding to say the team is “working through some different things” when asked if Akers will be part of the team moving forward. What if the Rams replaced him with Christian McCaffrey?
After firing Matt Rhule as their head coach, the Panthers are listening to offers for McCaffrey, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Furthermore, the Rams are among the teams showing at least some level of interest in the All-Pro running back.
The Broncos, 49ers and Bills are the other teams also showing interest in McCaffrey.

The Panthers should be sellers at the trade deadline, being 1-4 and with an interim coach leading the team. McCaffrey is obviously their biggest trade chip, even with three years left on his contract.
Schefter reported that a deal “might not be easy to complete,” so it won’t be a simple swap between the Panthers and another team. But the Rams could fit him under the cap with his base salary being just $1.035 million in 2022.
It’s certainly something that bears watching leading up to the deadline.
