The New England Patriots reportedly added to their defensive line on Sunday with the signing of former UFL defensive tackle Josiah Bronson, per the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.
After going undrafted in 2021, Bronson bounced between multiple NFL teams, including the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins.
His most recent stop was with the Memphis Showboats last season in the UFL, where he had 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
While in the NFL, he appeared in eight games total and mustered 12 tackles. The former University of Washington standout will have his work cut out for him to make the roster, but he’ll have an opportunity like everyone else to prove himself in training camp.
Bronson is an imposing force along the defensive front at 6-foor-3 and 310 pounds. We’ll see if he can make it work to his advantage at the NFL level.

The Patriots still have one open spot left on their roster after releasing linebacker Jontrey Hunter and cornerback Kaleb Ford-Dement last week.
