We are still more than a month out from the 2024 NFL draft, and so far, the New England Patriots have reportedly shown no interest in trading the No. 3 overall pick.
The Patriots, along with the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders, were mentioned in Albert Breer’s Monday column on Sports Illustrated as not showing a desire for trading out of the top-three.
Per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, Breer wrote:
Assuming the Bears, Commanders and Patriots stay put and draft quarterbacks—zero of the three have shown an appetite for trading one of those picks—McCarthy is not just worthy of being, at worst, the fourth QB off the board, but maybe someone worth moving up for.

Some have considered the possibility of the Patriots trading down with the Minnesota Vikings, who have acquired two first-round picks to potentially use as trade bait to move up and get a quarterback.
But the best the Vikings might be able to do is move up for Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy.
The Patriots appear to be locked in on landing one of the top-three quarterbacks on the draft board. With USC’s Caleb Williams likely going to the Bears, the Patriots could end up with either LSU’s Jayden Daniels or North Carolina’s Drake Maye as their future franchise face under center.
