As Senior Bowl practices come to an end this week, the New England Patriots have already met with two wide receiver prospects. Romeo Doubs of Nevada and Christian Watson of North Dakota State are two prospects in question per The Boston Globe’s Jim McBride.
Doubs measures in at six-foot-two, 204 pounds. He has recorded 1,000 yards in each of his last two seasons. He is coming off a 2021 campaign that saw him record 80 catches for 1,109 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Watson caught 43 passes for 801 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games last season. The 801 yards eclipsed his career-high of 732 yards set in 2019.
As mock drafts and pre-draft analysis come to light, a playmaking top option has been a common theme on many draft boards. New England lacked a true deep-threat option last season.
Now, as the NFL draft inches closer, the Patriots are doing their homework.
