Report: Patriots lose two OTA days after offseason rule violation

The reason for the New England Patriots suddenly cancelling Thursday’s organized team activities, which was expected to be open to the media, might have been revealed.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported on Wednesday night that the team had two OTA practices stripped for an offseason rule violation. Per Reiss, another OTA practice has been taken away next week as well, but it wasn’t revealed if it would be the one open to the media on Wednesday, May 31.

“Filed to ESPN: The Patriots are losing two days of voluntary organized team activities due to a violation of offseason rules, per league sources,” Reiss posted on social media. “That explains the team’s announcement about Thursday’s practice being called off. Another OTA next week has also been taken away.”
