The New England Patriots are set to hire Riley Larkin as an offensive assistant. This was reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Friday afternoon.
Larkin served as the Ohio State Buckeyes offensive assistant in the quarterbacks room during their national championship run. He joined Ohio State in 2023 after serving as an offensive analyst for Middle Tennessee State.
Larkin was also a former quarterback for John Carroll University, which is the same school where Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels graduated from.
The Patriots have made multiple coaching moves across the board, along with the hiring of McDaniels as the new offensive play-caller. They hired former Browns assistant Ashton Grant as their new quarterbacks coach on Thursday.

Larkin joining the Patriots is a great addition considering he’s worked with one of the top young quarterbacks in college football. Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard threw for 4,010 yards, 35 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his championship run.
Larkin will now turn his attention to another promising young player at the NFL level in Drake Maye.
