Report: Patriots and punter Jake Bailey agree to four-year extension

The New England Patriots and punter Jake Bailey agreed to a contract extension on Monday morning, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The two sides agreed to a four-year $13.5 million contract with $6.5 million in fully guaranteed money.

The contract is slated to run through the 2025 season.

Bailey has been a consistent punter during his time with New England. Bailey had a career year in 2020. He made his first Pro Bowl and was a First-Team All-Pro. Bailey averaged 47.3 yards per punt last season. That was the second-highest average of his career.

Bailey was a fifth-round draft pick in 2019. His on-field performance combined with his accolades could certainly qualify him as a steal for that year’s draft class.
