Hopefully, Carolina Panthers punter Johnny Hekker enjoyed himself over in Frankfurt last week when he announced his team’s fourth-round selection of the 2023 NFL draft—because he’s probably going back there next year.

As reported by Max Schrader of German newspaper Bild, and later confirmed by Joe Person of The Athletic on Thursday afternoon, the Panthers will be playing the Kansas City Chiefs in Germany during the 2024 season. The matchup between the two franchises, both of which carry international marketing rights in the country, will be considered a home game for Carolina.
Schrader also reported that the Chiefs will have a date in Germany with the Chicago Bears this upcoming season. The New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots, additionally, should be solidified as the other 2023 clash taking place on German soil.
An official announcement on the Panthers’ historic trip, according to Person, is expected to be made some time next week.
