If the New England Patriots do decide to part ways with head coach Bill Belichick, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel will reportedly have interest in the job.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, Vrabel and the Titans will weigh his future with the team this week, but the head coach is “interested in the idea of returning to the Patriots” as the head coach if the spot opens up.
There has been plenty of rumors and speculation about Vrabel possibly wanting to move on from Tennessee. A common theme in those rumors is Vrabel possibly being unhappy with general manager Ran Carthon.
Even if the two sides are ready to part, the Titans are highly unlikely to simply let Vrabel out of his contract. After all, he could net Tennessee a substantial return, as the head coach is highly thought of around the league.
And it stands to reason that’s especially true in New England, where he spent eight years of his NFL career, winning three Super Bowls.

As far as the exact return in a trade goes, history suggests the Titans could land at least a first-round pick, which would be a huge add considering the massive amount of work Tennessee needs to do to right the ship.
