Report: Mac Jones not expected to be suspended for alleged low blow

Thankfully, cup check-gate is finally over.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is not expected to be suspended, following recent allegations that he hit New York Jets cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner below the belt in Sunday’s game.

Gardner brought attention to the alleged incident after the game, which prompted the NFL to launch an investigation. There have been multiple video clips that have surfaced on social media, but none have conclusively shown anything egregious from Jones.

The third-year quarterback appeared on “Jones & Mego” on Monday afternoon and claimed “nothing was intentional” in his brief run-in with Gardner.

This incident should only feed into the perennial drama between the Patriots and Jets when the two teams meet again in the regular season finale. It should come as no surprise there’s no love lost in one of the league’s most historic rivalries.
