Report: Lions ‘reached out’ about Jets’ Haason Reddick

Haason Reddick is probably going to leave the New York Jets before ever playing for them. A potential next team to keep an eye on is the Detroit Lions.

In wake of the Jets’ trade for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, Reddick was granted permission to seek a trade.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, a team to keep an eye on is the Lions:

“Haason Reddick would be an obvious player the Lions can inquire about, and I’ve been told they have reached out,” Fowler wrote this week. “Reddick’s recent hiring of agent Drew Rosenhaus, who is known for getting deals done expeditiously, could improve his chances of either staying with the Jets or facilitating a trade.”

It’s unclear exactly what the Jets could land for Reddick after the way his extensive holdout has gone.

With the Adams acquisition, it was clear Reddick would be leaving New York. The Jets won’t be able to meet Reddick’s demands. New York owner Woody Johnson confirmed that Reddick was allowed to look for a trade partner this week. That came after the team previously said no to the idea in August.

Adams changed all that.

Reddick was originally traded to New York this past offseason.

Jets Wire will provide updates as information is made available.
