Needing to make obvious changes to the roster heading into a potential playoff run, the Los Angeles Lakers are cutting ties with veteran center DeAndre Jordan, who signed a one-year deal with the team in September.
Jordan made 19 starts for the Lakers in 32 appearances this season, but played just 12.8 minutes per game.
In his place, the Lakers are reportedly planning to sign 34-year-old guard D.J. Augustin, per Shams Charania. Augustin last played for the Houston Rockets this season. The Rockets released Augustin to allow roster space to complete the Dennis Schroder trade at the deadline.
Augustin could provide shooting the Lakers desperately need. Augustin is shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range this season, and is a career 38 percent shooter from three.
