Report: Jimmy Garoppolo, Raiders Agree to Three-Year Deal

The Raiders are signing former 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a deal, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. The deal is for three years and is worth $67.5 million, per ESPN. The contract includes $34 million guaranteed.

Garoppolo will reunite with Josh McDaniels. The current Las Vegas coach was Garoppolo’s quarterback coach and offensive coordinator when they were in New England from 2014-17.

The 31-year-old signal-caller has played for San Francisco ever since the Patriots traded him in October 2017. This past season, San Francisco entered the year with Trey Lance as its starting quarterback but lost him to a season-ending ankle injury—leading to Garoppolo taking back the starting spot.

He would eventually get injured as well and missed the rest of the season with a foot injury. Garoppolo tallied 2,437 passing yards and 16 touchdown passes to just four interceptions in 11 games played this past year.

The Raiders now get a quality starter after releasing Derek Carr this offseason. With weapons like Davante Adams and Darren Waller flanking him, Garoppolo is poised to return to his old form.
