The Jacksonville Jaguars search for their next general manager continues.
On Monday, it was reported that the Jaguars requested to interview five different candidates for the role. Now, a sixth has reportedly entered the mix.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jaguars have requested to interview LA Rams’ Director of Scouting James Gladstone for the general manager opening.
Gladstone has been with the Rams for eight seasons now and has been the Director of Scouting Strategy for the last four seasons.
In that four-year span, the Rams organization has finished with a combined record of 37-31, which includes three 10-plus win seasons, three playoff appearances, and a Super Bowl win, hitting on a number of draft picks and often operating aggressively in free agency.
During his introductory press conference, Liam Coen emphasized the importance of alignment between the general manager and the head coach when it comes to building a successful roster.
“With the front office, how do we continue to build there and get this thing fully in alignment so that then when we go into the offseason program, we’re all on the same page, we all understand the vision and the goal?” Coen said.
Coen’s two stints with the Rams in 2020 and again in 2022 overlapped with Gladstone’s tenure with the team.
