The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly adding a new defensive assistant to the coaching staff under defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile.
According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the Jaguars are “expected” to add Kevin Wilkins as their assistant linebackers coach. Wilkins was the University of Michigan outside linebackers coach in 2024.
At the NFL level, Wilkins was a defensive assistant for Baltimore in 2021 and in that same role with the New York Giants in 2022 and 2023.
At Michigan, Wilkins coached under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, who is known for operating an often blitz-heavy and highly aggressive defense.
Under Wilkins, Michigan edge defender Josaiah Stewart was one of the more productive pass rushers in college football, ranking 17th in PFF’s pass-rush productivity metric, along with being named a second-team All-Big Ten team member as well.
Wilkins will join Tem Lukabu, who is the Jaguars’ linebackers coach. Campanile also comes to Jacksonville having been the linebackers coach in Miami from 2020-2023 and in Green Bay during the 2024 season.
