Milus is a long-time defensive backs coach in the NFL. His career in that role began back in 1993 with Washington. He most recently was with the Indianapolis Colts from 2022-2024 under former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.
Throughout his 30-plus year career, Milus has either been a defensive backs coach or a secondary coach at each stop he’s made. During that span, he’s coached and operated in a wide variety of defensive schemes.
Milus provides experience at what is otherwise a relatively young defensive staff that the Jaguars have put together.
Also on Campanile’s staff in the secondary is Anthony Perkins, who was reportedly hired to be the Jaguars’ secondary coach.
What is unknown at this time is if Milus will fill more of an assistant role in the secondary or if one of Perkins or Milus will be primarily coach the cornerbacks and the other the safeties.
For what it’s worth, the latter was the coaching structure in Green Bay where Campanile was for the 2024 season.
