Patrick Graham will not be the Jacksonville Jaguars next defensive coordinator, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson.
In a report on Wednesday evening, Anderson said that a league source told her that Graham is working on a deal to rejoin the Las Vegas Raiders under new head coach Pete Carroll.

Graham was previously the Raiders defensive coordinator from 2022-2024.
Graham has been one of several candidates to interview for the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator opening under new head coach Liam Coen. Graham was also one of the 10 candidates who initially interviewed for the Jaguars’ head coaching role.
Under Graham, the Raiders would rank 26th in scoring in 2022 and 25th in scoring this most recent season. They did, however, rank seventh in that category in 2023.
He has run one of the more aggressive schemes the last few seasons as well, ranking 12 in blitz rate in two of the last three years, according to Pro Football Reference.
The other defensive coordinator candidates include Packers’ linebacker coach Anthony Campanile, Vikings pass game coordinator Daronte Jones, and Rams pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant.
It’s also been reported that the Jaguars planned to interview Panthers passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley–although the team hasn’t confirmed that at this time.
With Graham out of the running, it would appear–based on the other candidates–that the Jaguars won’t be going with defensive coordinator experience. None of the other four candidates have held the defensive coordinator title at the NFL level.
