More details are starting to emerge of Josh Giddey’s alleged inappropriate relationship with an underage girl. The family of the minor has reportedly hired famed attorney Gloria Allred. The hiring was originally reported by TMZ.
Allred is known for taking high-profile and controversial cases centered around women’s rights for several decades now. She was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
Giddey is currently waiting out the results of two separate investigations of his allegations. The NBA announced an investigation on Nov. 24 after the 21-year-old elected to not comment in his first public appearance since the allegations went viral on social media. The Newport Beach PD also announced an investigation on Nov. 29.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have elected to continue to play Giddey throughout the investigation, as Mark Daigneault noted the situation is out of their control and a league matter.
The 21-year-old is in his third season with the Thunder. In 19 games, he’s averaged 12 points on 42.7% shooting, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
