Report: Giants to sign WR Parris Campbell

The New York Giants continued working on their wide receiver depth on Thursday, reportedly coming to an agreement with Parris Campbell.

Jordan Schultz of The Score was the first to report that the former Indianapolis Colts receiver was headed to East Rutherford on a one-year deal, $3 million deal (worth up to $6.7 million).

The 25-year-old Campbell was drafted by the Colts in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. He spent all four years of his career (to date) with the Colts, appearing in 32 games (24 starts), hauling in 97 receptions for 983 yards and five touchdowns. He’s also rushed 11 times for 108 yards and a 9.8 yards per carry average.

The 6-foot, 208-pound Ohio State product had the best season of his career in 2022 by a country mile, recording 63 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns to go along with 58 yards rushing.

Campbell earned a 60.8 overall grade from PFF in 2022.

Although Campbell is an intriguing addition for the Giants and quarterback Daniel Jones, he has a long history of knee, foot and ankle injuries that are cause for concern. That’s especially true when considering most of their wide receiver depth will return from injury (Sterling Shepard, Colling Johnson, Wan”Dale Robinson) in 2023.
