The New York Giants have loaded up at wide receiver this offseason, bringing in players like Parris Campbell and Jamison Crowder while also re-signing the likes of Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton.
Those are just a few of the names in a suddenly crowded receiver room but the Giants aren’t done yet.
In addition to wining and dining several receiver prospects ahead of the 2023 NFL draft, Giants general manager Joe Schoen also continues to monitor the trade market.
Potential trade targets include Brandon Aiyuk and DeAndre Hopkins, but the San Francisco 49ers are adamant about keeping Aiyuk while Hopkins’ contract may be a bit too rich for the Giants’ blood.
But whatever obstacles remain, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano report that the Giants are intent on adding more receiver help for quarterback Daniel Jones.
There are still teams out there looking for receiver help, such as the Chiefs, Ravens and Giants, but Hopkins’ salary is giving people pause for now.
Head coach Brian Daboll recently admitted to texting back-and-forth with Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason but he appears destined for the AFC.
Other notable trade targets include Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, but like the 49ers with Aiyuk, the Denver Broncos seem intent on keeping their wide receiver duo.
Ultimately, if Schoen wishes to add more talent at the position, it will likely have to come by way of the NFL draft next month.
