Report: Giants’ Andrew Thomas expected to return vs. Jets

New York Giants All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas, who has been out with a hamstring strain since injuring it in the team’s Week 1 loss to Dallas, could finally be ready to return next week when the Giants face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Thomas suffered a setback in practice leading up to a Week 4 game against the Seattle Seahawks but is now close to 100 percent.

The Giants’ offensive line has been a mess without Thomas and seven of the nine linemen that made the roster out of training camp have been either lost to injured reserve or are currently injured.

Thomas has missed the last five games and will also sit out this Sunday’s game versus the Washington Commanders. Center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) will also miss his third consecutive game. No word on his progress, however.
