Report: Free agent Donte DiVincenzo signing two-year deal with Warriors

After losing players like Juan Toscano-Anderson, Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. at the start of free agency, the Golden State Warriors got involved in the spending on Friday.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, free agent guard Donte DiVincenzo has agreed to a two-year deal with the Warriors on the second day of free agency. DiVencenzo’s contract with Golden State is for two years at $9.3 million with a player option in the second season, per Charania.

After spending the first three seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, DiVincenzo was traded to the Sacramento Kings at the deadline in last season. Over 42 games with Sacramento and Milwaukee, DiVencenzo averaged 9.0 points on 35.1% shooting from the floor and 37.3% from beyond the arc with 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 24 minutes per contest.

The former No. 17 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft gives the Warriors a versatile piece in the backcourt that has proven playoff experience. At 6-foot-4, DiVincenzo possesses a burst of athleticism paired with gritty defense the Warriors could use after losing Payton II to the Portland Trail Blazers.
