Falcons officials see Week 3 matchup vs. Chiefs as most important game ever at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

The Kansas City Chiefs will have a target on their backs all season as defending Super Bowl champions, and according to a report from Adam Schefter, their matchup against the Atlanta Falcons might have even more edge than usual.

On Sunday morning, Schefter tweeted that some Falcons officials view Atlanta’s Week 3 tilt against the Chiefs as the most important game in the history of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is in its eighth season.

Though it didn’t seem that a formal poll had been conducted, Schefter’s report was an early indication that the Falcons’ effort will be at an all-time high when Atlanta faces Kansas City on Sunday Night Football.

Every team that goes against the Chiefs knows that a win over the defending champions could make or break their seasons, and Atlanta will have a home-field advantage in their effort to knock off Kansas City in Week 3.

Expect to see both teams play with maximum effort on Sunday night as they look to establish themselves early in the season.
