Report: Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs Suffers Significant Knee Injury at Practice

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered a torn ACL on Thursday after he had to leave practice on crutches, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports. According to Pelissero, Diggs had an MRI on his knee that confirmed the injury.

After practice, quarterback Dak Prescott addressed Diggs’s injury with the media.

“Couple of you saw him leaving the field,” Prescott said, via ESPN’s Ed Werder. “So prayers; hoping for the best. Simple as that.”

Diggs is in his fourth season in the NFL and has established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the game, making two straight Pro Bowls. In 2021, Diggs led the league with 11 interceptions, returning two for touchdowns, while earning a first-team All-Pro nomination.

Before the season began, Dallas and Diggs agreed to a five-year, $97 million contract, making him one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league.

The Cowboys are 2–0 to start the 2023 season, and have outscored their opponents 70–10 in those games. Dallas plays the 0–2 Cardinals in Arizona on Sunday.
