The Indianapolis Colts reportedly have a scheduled top-30 visit with Chattanooga defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.
According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, Maxwell had a solid performance at his pro day last week and has top-30 visits with the Colts and Tennessee Titans.
Defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell, who participated in the Shrine Bowl, timed 5.18 seconds in the 40 with a solid 10-yard split of 1.69 seconds. His other marks included 4.74 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.63 seconds in the three-cone. Maxwell also completed 30 reps on the bench press. He has official 30 visits with the Indianapolis Colts and Titans.
Maxwell went to the Shrine Bowl this offseason and likely projects as a late Day 3 selection or priority free agent signing following the draft.
Known for his pass-rushing, Maxwell recorded eight sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss during the 2022 campaign. He earned a Pro Football Focus grade of 90.8 while being credited with 28 total pressures lining up mostly as a three-technique.
The Colts have no issues selecting or signing a prospect from a smaller school if they feel he has upside and athleticism.
We’ll see if they feel confident enough in Maxwell as a prospect to bring him into the fold during or after the draft.
