The Indianapolis Colts have emerged as the most likely landing spot for quarterback Matt Ryan if the Atlanta Falcons trade him, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
While this doesn’t come as much of a surprise, it does give some clarity to the situation. If Ryan is traded before 4:00 p.m. ET on Monday, it looks like it’s going to be to the Colts.
Jay Glazer also reported that the Colts are trying to work out a trade with the Falcons but at this point, nothing is final.
From NFL Now: The #Colts have emerged as the likely landing spot for #Falcons QB Matt Ryan, and the two sides are in talks. If Ryan is traded, it’ll almost certainly be Indy. But nothing is done as of now. pic.twitter.com/TJqqG25Z2x

The Falcons have a decision to make with Ryan given that he’s due a $7.5 million roster bonus. They could try to rework his contract and keep him on the roster, but it appears the Colts are the favorites to have Ryan as their quarterback in 2022.
What the trade compensation will look like isn’t clear. The Falcons are going to try to get as much draft capital as they can from the Colts, who have multiple Day 2 picks in each of the next two drafts.
We’ll see what happens later on Monday afternoon, but it appears the Colts may have their next quarterback.
