Update: The Chiefs have officially downgraded Toney to out.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney will miss his third consecutive game due to a hamstring injury according to a new report.
Andy Reid gave a glimmer of hope on Friday, saying that Toney was on the border of playing or not playing. The team ruled him questionable in the final injury report after three limited practice sessions this week. It appears they’ll be playing things on the safe side with the trade acquisition.
According to The Score reporter Jordan Schultz, Toney will be declared out for Sunday, but there is hope that he can make his return in Week 15 against the Houston Texans.

I’m told Toney has made good progress and the #Chiefs are hopeful he’ll be good to go next week. KC’s second-year WR has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury. pic.twitter.com/Fe5eQu82jq

It’s hard to argue with Toney getting another week off. In fact, the overwhelming majority of Chiefs fans I heard from this week felt that was the best course of action for Rick Burkholder and the training staff to take.
This hamstring injury first popped up earlier this season when he was with the New York Giants. Toney felt it tightening up on him again in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers and the team chose to shut him down instead of risking further injury.
Getting Toney right for the impending playoff run is more important than having him back for this week. Though, there should at least be some level of urgency to get him back out there and further ingratiated into the offense.
