Report: Cardinals’ Plan for Kyler Murray With Eligibility to Return Days Away

Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray, who has not played since suffering a torn ACL last season, is not expected to be taken off of the physically unable to perform (PUP) list when he becomes eligible on Monday, per a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Cardinals franchise signal-caller, who has missed the club’s first four games, is not yet ready to make his return to the playing field.

Schefter reports that Murray is “still is considered weeks away from playing,” citing league sources.

Injured Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is eligible to return from the PUP list on Monday, but is expected to be “weeks away from playing,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

During the two-time Pro Bowler’s absence, Arizona has turned the reins over to veteran Joshua Dobbs. After being acquired in a trade with the Browns, just prior to the start of the regular season, Dobbs has led the team to an eye-opening start to the season.

Arizona’s two losses have come by a combined total of seven points, mainly thanks to Dobbs, who has completed an impressive 72% of his passes through the first three games. The savvy quarterback was instrumental in the Cardinals’ shocking 28–16 upset win over the Cowboys last week.

Due to the solid play of Dobbs, the Cardinals are in no hurry to rush back the former 2019 No. 1 draft pick.
