Report: Cardinals Besieged With Trade Offers for No. 3 Pick in NFL Draft

The Cardinals have heard from at least six other teams interested in acquiring the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NFL draft from Arizona, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday.

Those six teams have yet to be named. The Cardinals have not decided whether to trade the pick, according to Schefter.

The current NFL draft order has the Panthers with the No. 1 overall pick, followed by the Texans, Cardinals, Colts and Seahawks rounding out the top five picks.

ESPN’s Field Yates noted that the teams wanting to jump ahead to the third pick most likely are in need of a quarterback, because the Colts have been scouting the top prospects ahead of the draft, which begins on April 27.

The Panthers already are expected to draft a quarterback. Sports Illustrated’s most recent mock draft has Carolina, Houston and Indianapolis drafting a quarterback. The Cardinals are projected to draft edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. out of Alabama.

If a team sitting lower in the draft order wants a top quarterback, it makes perfect sense why it would want to jump up to the third overall pick.

If the Cardinals decide to part with the pick, it would be the second trade near the top of the draft this year. The Bears already sent the No. 1 pick to the Panthers.

The 2023 NFL draft begins April 27.
