Report: Bulls unlikely to make major move at trade deadline

According to Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic, “few within or around the Chicago Bulls organization anticipate the franchise making a major move” ahead of this year’s trade deadline. The Bulls have been involved in a multitude of trade rumors, but they may end up simply staying put.

Chicago endured an ugly start to the season, beginning the year 5-14. Since then, however, they’ve pushed their way back up the standings and now stand to earn a spot in the Play-In Tournament. That said, there were still some rumblings that they could look to shake things up while simultaneously staying competitive in the East.

Zach LaVine has been the most common name brought up in rumors when it comes to the Bulls, and there have been a bunch of different reports.

Chicago has supposedly been focused on finding a deal for LaVine, but interest around the league has been slim despite the fact that teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and Detroit Pistons have all been dubbed potential suitors.

DeMar DeRozan is also a curious case. The 34-year-old veteran is in the final year of his contract with no extension in hand, yet there has been very little buzz about a potential trade.

Alex Caruso has also been a popular name, but the Bulls have been reportedly hesitant to trade him, deeming him close to untouchable in talks.

Add in potential veteran trade candidates like Jevon Carter, Andre Drummond, and Torrey Craig, and while the Bulls may not make any huge trades, they could still be active.
